This is amazing work. I believe you scouted me a couple years ago. I'm still super impressed with the work you do. Keep it up.

thank you and yes I do remember I did!

Canvas! YAY!

I think this looks great, and I have very little to add over the reviews below me. The ONE thing I could think to say, and forgive me if it's been said, but I wish the painting was seven FOOT by five FOOT. I feel like the amount of detail you poured into the wolf is wonderful, and it gives me the impression that you could make jaws hit the floor if you had worked bigger and detailed it to your hearts content. Truly, though, a very nice peice.

Believe me I wish I had a huge canvas to work on! They are so expensive! These are practice pieces so I will eventually work on larger pieces as my techniques improve. Thank you so much for your lovely review :)

You absolutely deserve Frontpage

I give out 10s rarely, but this is an amazing piece of work. I couldn't give you pointers even if I wanted to. The composition is great, and the lighting is extremely welcoming. There's a softness to the artist's being that that almost emphasizes youth and innocence. I can't get over how "crisp" (there may be a more fitting word, but I don't know it) it looks. I look forward to seeing more of your work. This is beautiful.

I like it very much

I love the use of brush strokes to give the clouds texture and movement. Intentional or not, it came out wonderfully. Well done. I would have given this piece an 11 if you had painted FROM a photo, as opposed to ON a photo. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your description. However, that doesn't make it any less "art", nor does it make it less beautiful. It's really fantastic, thank you for sharing.

Nondual responds:

Thanks for the great review.

Proportions be damned

I was going to agree with the reviewer below, however, I came to realize that it's the essence of the man that's IS right about these pieces. Sure, the legs look a little short, but the overall "feel" is absolutely fantastic. Very well done. I stopped my rating short at an 8 because I believe in having SOME kind of background. Maybe a shadow, maybe just one tree. It just grounds the piece. With that being said, I think that the piece could REALLY capture a Norman Rockwell esque feeling of familiarity in the candid. Thanks for sharing!

Otto responds:

Ahh I tell you what, when I get my pieces back when I go back to college (high school) then I will bring the piece with the background, but I don't have it at the moment. :)

And thankyou for the review!

Looks great!

I also suffer from the inability (although, I must say you obviously have a good grasp of it) to create fitting backgrounds. This has a wonderfully ethereal feel. The colors are wonderful, and the lighting is good. The only things that kept me from giving it a 10 is that I feel like you could have buffed it up a little bit more. Maybe some lighting enhancement as well. That's a hard review to give though, as it may match the style you were intending to match. In such a case a 10 is fully deserved. Well done.

It's difficult...

To take a character that was intended to be a cartoon and make it realistic. It takes a lot of deep understanding of light and focus to create. This looks fantastic. Very well done.
